Bulldog Puppy Purchase Agreement

This agreement is between Abrams Bulldogs, hereinafter referred to as "Seller" and:

Name: ___________________________________________________ (Hereinafter referred to as “Buyer”)

Street Address: _____________________________________________ Phone Number: _______________

City/State/Zip code: ________________________________________

E-mail: ____________________________________________________

Country: _______________________

The Buyer hereby agrees to purchase the Puppy named _______________________ from Seller for the
price of $__________ plus separate Delivery Charges (if applicable -- see Delivery Charges below).

The Seller agrees to furnish the Buyer with all the necessary health information related to initial Puppy vaccines and deworming. Puppy will come with AKC registration form and initial health certification from Seller‘s licensed veterinarian.  Seller will mail the AKC registration papers to the Buyer or include them when delivering the Puppy.

  1. All puppies require a $500.00 deposit. Deposits will be accepted when the Puppy is at least 2 weeks old.  We do not accept personal checks.  We prefer PayPal, however we will also accept U.S. Postal Money Orders (these can ONLY be purchased at the U.S. Post Office) and/or Cash.  Payment for the remainder of the Purchase Price and Delivery Charges must be received and cleared prior to scheduling delivery or pick up of the Puppy.  If Buyer speaks to Seller and Buyer agrees to purchase a Puppy, Buyer must send an overnight priority Postal Money Order (minimum $500 deposit), or other form of payment for the deposit to Seller within 48 hours, Seller will then place the Puppy on reserve for Buyer until Seller receives from Buyer the remainder of the purchase amount and any applicable delivery charges.  If Seller does not receive the deposit within the 48 hrs, the Puppy will go back up for sale.
  2. Choice of Puppy is determined on a first come (deposit received) first serve basis.  All puppies will be sold without breeding rights (i.e. AKC Limited Registration).  All Puppy prices on this website listed as pet prices are displayed with the assumption that the Puppy being purchased is being bought as a pet. Breeding rights will be attached via addendum to the bottom of this contract if so agreed upon.  All prices are firm and non-negotiable.  Seller does not accept deposits and monthly payments on future puppies.
  3. All deposits and payments are NON REFUNDABLE. If something happens to Buyer’s reserved Puppy or if one is not available from this litter, Buyer will be given choice of a Puppy from the next available litter.  If Buyer changes their mind, decides that Buyer does not want the Puppy, decides to buy a Puppy elsewhere or finds out that Buyer cannot have a Puppy; Buyer will forfeit Buyer’s deposit.  By placing a deposit, Buyer agrees and understands these terms.  By placing a deposit on any Puppy, Buyer is making a legal agreement to purchase that Puppy.  Failure of the Buyer to complete the purchase would subject Seller to lost opportunities to sell the Puppy to some other Buyer and retention of the Deposit is meant to compensate Seller for this potential loss.  This deposit signifies the intent on the part of the Buyer to follow through with the purchase of the Puppy.
  4. The Seller reserves the right to void the transaction if Seller learns of any reason why Buyer might not be suitable for the Puppy (e.g. Buyer is found to be an animal abuser, violent person, representative of a pet store, representative of a pharmaceutical research laboratory, etc.) or intends to involve the Puppy/bulldog in any illegal enterprise.  In the event Seller discovers that the information Buyer submitted on the Puppy application is not correct (e.g. Buyer’s place of residence has changed to a non suitable dwelling for a Puppy or adult bulldog from Abrams Bulldogs), the Buyer’s deposit will be forfeited and the Puppy will be re-offered for sale to a different Buyer.
  5. Delivery Charges:
    •  Shipping Cost is paid by Buyer at the flat rate of $________  for puppies under ten weeks of age. Older puppies/bulldogs are shipped at expense of Buyer.
    • If Buyer lives too far away to personally pick up their Puppy, Seller can ship the Puppy to Buyer's nearest major airport. All shipping costs are paid by the Buyer.
    • During warmer months (May - September) the price may be higher to farther airports to VIP the Puppy.
    • This price also includes the shipping Kennel and USDA Veterinarian Health Certificate prior to shipping.
    •  Seller will select from a number of different airlines and air services to get Buyer’s puppy to Buyer, or when possible Seller will ship via ground shipment.  Seller requires at least three business days to reserve Buyer’s puppy’s flight or to schedule ground shipment.     Seller’s strong preference is ground shipment.  With ground shipment a Buyer’s puppy is attended to by the same person at all times who will breathe the same air and regulate heat and cold comfort levels.  For these reasons, Seller suggests ground transportation as much more preferable over shipping through the airlines.
    • Only major airports that support live animal shipments are accepted for transport.
    • Seller does not ship where originating and connecting airport temperatures exceed 70 degrees Fahrenheit at times of departure, therefore, shipments can only be done early in the morning when this case applies.
    • During these warmer seasons Seller reserves the right to ship at a schedule that permits Seller to ship the Puppy.
    • If Buyer wishes to drive and meet Seller, Seller can meet Buyer part way by car (no more than a _____ hour drive for Seller in one direction) for a fee of $________ if Buyer prefers to do this instead of shipping.
  6. Buyer will take physical possession of Puppy between the time the Puppy is between eight (8) and ten (10) weeks old, otherwise there will be a $10.00 per day boarding charge.  This does not apply to individuals who need the Puppy shipped to them, however, payment must be paid in full before shipping will be scheduled.  Buyer will also be financially responsible for any other necessary veterinary or other expenses incurred on behalf of Puppy past the ten weeks up to the date Buyer takes physical possession of the Puppy, unless other arrangements are agreed upon and noted by Seller in writing.  Two (2) weeks or more past the ten (10) weeks with no attempt to make delivery arrangements, the Buyer will forfeit Puppy as well as any monies paid, with no option to obtain another Puppy, unless noted by the Seller in writing.
  7. Buyer agrees in buying a Puppy that in buying said Puppy the Buyer agrees to submit in all legal matters pertaining to said purchase or any potential dispute regarding said Puppy or purchase to the jurisdiction of Sebastian County, Arkansas.

  1. To be in good physical condition for the first 48 hours after the time of delivery. The Buyer agrees to have the Puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours after the delivery time for a complete physical examination.  Failure of Buyer to take said Puppy for a physical examination to a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of delivery, or failure to have all other pets in Buyer's home veterinarian checked before exposing Buyer's new Puppy to them, voids Puppy guarantee/warranty in full.  Remember, due to their age, Buyer's new Puppy may not have had all their required vaccinations yet, and must never be exposed to other pets until Buyer's veterinarian has verified that all the pets in Buyer's home are completely healthy and free of parasites & infectious diseases. If a veterinarian finds the Puppy to have a contagious disease or to have a serious physical condition other than a bacterial infection such as Coccidia or Giardia both of which are easily treated, the Seller will replace the Puppy with another Puppy of comparable or better quality. The Seller reserves the right to a second veterinarian opinion at the expense of the Seller.  No monies will be refunded.
  2. To be free from any genetic/hereditary defects that cause death or serious impairment of the vital functions in the Puppy until said Puppy is one year of age. If such an inheritable defect is documented by a Veterinarian and presented to the Seller with sufficient supporting evidence, the Buyer will be entitled to a replacement Puppy of the same sex, of comparable or better quality, when available from same or upcoming litter, after the first Puppy is returned to Seller. No cash refunds will be given by Seller and Seller will not pay any veterinary bills. Above guarantee/warranty excludes hip and joint related issues. Buyer agrees in buying a Puppy that he or she understands the certain common limitations of the bulldog breeds such as joint issues and that most bulldog puppies if X rayed will evidence some form of mild to moderate hip dysplasia.  Loose hips on bulldog puppies are common and rarely prevent a bulldog from walking or functioning as a loveable pet.  Above guarantee/warranty excludes death by heatstroke.  Buyer agrees in buying a Puppy that he or she understands all short-nosed breeds (’brachycephalic’ breeds like bulldogs must be carefully managed in hot weather.  It usually surprises novice bulldog owners how quickly a bulldog may succumb due to heatstroke.  It is a severely underestimated cause of death in all dog breeds, not only bulldogs, but it is true that bulldogs are particularly susceptible to heatstroke. Adult dogs sold are not covered herein and any/all adults will be sold on an “as is” basis”.
  3. Please be aware that puppies are considered high risk for Coccidia and Giardia (both cause bloody stools). These health issues are usually easily treatable with inexpensive medicine. They are often brought on by the stress of shipping, a new home, new food, new people, as well as a change in climate or surroundings. Shipped puppies seem more prone to showing symptoms of Coccidia or Giardia. Another thing that may show up with shipping and/or the stress of moving to a new home is Kennel Cough (Bordetella-raspy cough). Kennel cough, Coccidia or Giardia on their own are not life threatening. All puppies are preventatively treated for worms, Coccidiosis, and Giardia, before they leave.  Puppies will also be up to date on the Puppy vaccinations consistent with their age. Seller does not guarantee against Coccidiosis, Girardia, or Kennel Cough.  Buyer is fully responsible for Puppy at the point in time it leaves Seller’s possession to travel to its new home.
  4. It is understood that at the time of this sale the Puppy is not guaranteed to be of show quality or breeding quality. Puppies will change as they mature. Ugly ducklings seem at times to turn into swans and sometimes swans seem to turn into ugly ducklings.

  1. To at all times use the kennel name ”Abrams” as the kennel prefix in the registered name of the dog as well as the leading prefix in said dog’s name in any advertisement of this dog whether in print, on the internet, or photo publication. Buyer will spay/neuter Puppy once it arrives in a timely manner per the advise of their licensed veterinarian.
  2. In the event that the Puppy/dog is to be later sold, or otherwise transferred from the possession of the Buyer, for whatever reason, the Seller will have the absolute right of first refusal to repurchase the Puppy/dog for a sum not to exceed the original purchase price. Under no circumstances should Buyer ever surrender the Puppy/dog to an animal shelter! If Buyer should ever find themselves in a situation where Buyer cannot keep the Puppy/dog, and Buyer cannot find a suitable, loving, home for the Puppy/dog, Seller asks that Buyer contact Seller for help.  If necessary, Seller will gladly provide a loving home for the Puppy/dog until they can be placed elsewhere.
  3. Buyer agrees to maintain Puppy in good health, provide routine preventative health care including, but not limited to the following: annual physical exams by a licensed veterinarian, annual vaccinations against DHLPP, annual fecal exams, continual heartworm prevention, and rabies vaccinations as mandated by Buyer's state and county of residence. Buyer agrees he/she is capable of providing proper medical attention for said Puppy. If the Buyer is not financially capable of caring for the medical needs of a bulldog Puppy, Buyer upon reading this contract will agree to inform us as the Sellers and will agree not to buy the Puppy. Buyer agrees to take full financial responsibility for any medical treatment necessary for the health and well being of the Puppy. Buyer’s responsibility for Puppy begins at the point the Puppy is picked up in person by the Buyer, or when it leaves Seller’s possession to be delivered to Buyer. Buyer agrees not to attempt to purchase a bulldog Puppy which they are not fully capable of caring for both physically, emotionally, and financially. A bulldog Puppy is not a decision that should be made on a whim. There is considerable expense involved over the lifetime commitment to owning a bulldog.
  4. Buyer further agrees to provide proper exercise as indicated in order to maintain Puppy in proper weight and physical shape. A proper diet consisting of top-quality dog food shall be fed.
  5. Buyer agrees that the Puppy is NOT to be LEFT SOLELY IN A BACKYARD OR KENNEL and will be allowed to spend substantial quality time in the home with family members. The Puppy is sold with the understanding that it was to go to carefully selected parties and the Buyer AVOWS that the Puppy shall become a member of the family. (This is to assure proper development and maintenance of the temperament for which the animal was bred.)
  6. If it is reported and confirmed that the Puppy is being abused or neglected by the Buyer, rights and ownership of the Puppy will automatically terminate and revert back to Seller who may immediately assume possession. Buyer agrees Seller will REPOSSESS Puppy UPON EVIDENCE OF NEGLECT AND/OR ABUSE and that Buyer will be responsible for Seller's fees and costs involved in repossession. This contract includes the use of any dog or Puppy in any illegal way, in violation of municipal, state, or federal law.
  7. The Buyer and Seller agree that this is the full and complete agreement that exists between the parties, and is not transferable to another party, for the sale of this Puppy/dog. Any agreements made prior to this are considered incorporated herein and any modifications made to this agreement shall be made in writing or such shall not be effective.
